One of the joys of hosting your wedding at The Barns at Delbury Hall is the opportunity to make the space truly your own.
While the venue already provides a beautifully styled backdrop, we warmly encourage couples to add personal touches that reflect their individual style and vision for the day.
Throughout the venue you will find thoughtful details designed to create a warm and romantic atmosphere, including abundant greenery, soft lighting and fairy lights, which are carefully arranged to enhance the character of the spaces throughout the year. Many couples find that these existing features provide a lovely foundation, allowing them to keep additional décor simple while still creating a stunning setting.
The following guidelines are designed to help ensure that any additional styling works seamlessly within the venue, while also allowing our team to prepare the space smoothly for each celebration.
Venue Setup & Styling
Our team will carefully arrange ceremony chairs (where applicable), along with your Wedding Breakfast tables and chairs, in line with your agreed layout and instructions. Your chosen caterer will then dress and lay the tables to complete the setup.
Your Events Manager will be available throughout to support your suppliers wherever possible. However, as they will be focused on coordinating the venue setup and preparing the team to ensure your day runs seamlessly, they are unable to take full responsibility for styling and decorative details. For this reason, we always recommend appointing a trusted family member, florist, or professional stylist to oversee the décor and ensure all finishing touches are in place exactly as you envision.
Chair Sashes
Due to the time required on the morning of your wedding, our team is unable to fit chair sashes. However, we’re pleased to recommend a selection of trusted stylists from our Recommended Suppliers list, who can both supply and professionally install chair sashes from 10am on your wedding day.
Décor Collection & Removal
Smaller décor items (such as small to medium-sized floral arrangements, vases, signs and lanterns) left in the venue at the end of your wedding will be collected by our events team and stored safely for you, ready for collection the following morning.
For heavy urns and other large décor pieces, we kindly ask that these are designed with same-night removal or early morning collection in mind.
Key Timings for Large Décor Collection & Removal
12:30am – Latest time for suppliers or designated representatives to collect large décor items on the night of the wedding
8:30am (following morning) – Latest collection time for any large décor items left overnight
We have included some additional guidance further below.
Floral Archways, Mandaps & Other Large Décor Items
To ensure that our team can prepare the venue beautifully for each celebration, and that every couple enjoys uninterrupted access for their own set-up, we kindly ask that large décor items (including arches, plinths, floral installations, backdrops, signage structures and hired furniture) are removed on the evening of your wedding wherever possible.
Items may be collected by 12:30am by either your professional supplier or a clearly designated, sober representative. The person responsible for collection should be confirmed at your Planning Meeting, so our team knows who to expect.
As our team begins venue reset shortly after the event concludes, we are unfortunately unable to facilitate collections after 12:30am, and any remaining items will need to be collected the following morning.
For any large décor items left overnight, please arrange collection by 8:30am the following morning. Please be aware that, in order for our cleaning team to prepare the venue spaces for the next event, large items left in the venue overnight will be moved to under the Archway (a covered but unsecured, outside space located immediately outside the venue) and dismantled if necessary.
While we will always handle items with care, we are unable to accept responsibility for any damage that may occur when moving décor or due to items being left outside overnight. Items remaining beyond 8:30am may also impact preparations for the following event, and additional charges may apply to cover staffing, handling and operational disruption. We would be delighted to work with your suppliers to ensure collections are arranged smoothly and with minimal disruption to your celebrations.
Sorry, but we Don’t Allow…
Chinese Lanterns or Balloon Releases due to our rural location
Fireworks. This includes “silent” fireworks, since they can still cause distress local livestock (we do allow sparklers outside)
Naked flames inside the venue candles are permitted on tables providing they are in a lantern or other protective holder. Open-top glass holders are also permitted, except for down the aisle, as these can easily get knocked over. For the aisle, we require either fully enclosed glass lanterns (rather than open-top holders) or alternatively LED candles.
Plastic or metal confetti, confetti balls or guns
Hay Bales
We provide the furniture at The Barns at Delbury Hall and do not allow other furniture to be used unless otherwise agreed in advance.
If you’ve got an idea for something and you’re unsure of whether we’ll allow it or not, just ask us. We’ll always try to be as accommodating as possible.
